In-Mind Magazine - Making Social Psychology Accessible

Welcome to the website of the Inquisitive Mind. The Inquisitive Mind, or In-Mind, is an exciting on-line quarterly magazine for social psychology. We are a peer-reviewed magazine, and we'd like to think we are the highest impact journal in social psychology (though have no data to back this claim up). Without citations, but with thousands of readers! We aim to interact with everyone interested in everyday human concerns, informing you on the hot trends in scientific social psychological research! Science has its own language and you might not feel like having the time to keep up-to-date. We will bridge the gap by bringing you in-depth articles that catch your mind.

Social Psychology
What is social psychology? Social psychologists study how the social environment influences people's thinking, their feelings, and their behaviors. Because social influence is pervasive in almost everything people think, feel, and do, social psychology is a very broad and multidisciplinary discipline. Researchers in this field thus do not only focus on the individual mind, but on processes within individuals, groups, and between groups.

What does In-Mind do?
We aim to serve you by demystifying social psychological research and to invite you to engage in thinking about our findings in an accessible, but mature and in-depth manner. Some of our articles refer to questions that concern society as a whole, such as altruism, the influence of violent media, stereotypes, honor, or how the body influences your thoughts. These topics are a small sample of popular articles currently posted on the In-Mind website. We offer quality reviews of important areas, creating a climate in which a general public and scientists can engage in stimulating debates on important topics.

Edutainment
What makes In-Mind a reliable teaching tool that functions as a source for public edutainment is that articles undergo peer-review before being accepted. We provide attractive and informative articles geared towards interaction between scientists and non-scientists. The quality of the articles have been recognized by the academic community; In-Mind articles have been used as class materials in Singapore, the Netherlands, and the United States. Moreover, In-Mind’s format are now used to develop Dutch, Portuguese, Italian, and German language versions.

In short, In-Mind is the product of a collaboration of committed individuals who hail from all parts of the world with at least this in common: a love of social psychology and the desire to broadcast its findings to the masses. Our website has not only the potential to transform individuals' assumptions and reevaluate the way they view the world, but also the potential to engage diverse communities in a dialogue on how we can all work together to improve the human condition. From these global origins, In-Mind fosters a more accessible and open community of inquisitive readers and social psychologists.

We welcome you to In-Mind and invite you to challenge others with your provoking thoughts!
